Imaging findings
Chest CT shows diffuse lung edema, pleural effusions, and a pericardial effusion. Cardiac MRI shows myocardial edema (t2-weighted hyperintensity) in the anterolateral wall and septum, patchy subendocardial and mid-myocardial late gadolinium enhancement, and reduced ejection fraction, in a patient with severe asthma and peripheral eosinophilia.
