Imaging findings
Following bilateral lung transplantation, radiographs showed subtle abnormalities of the pulmonary vessels in the hilum. CT revealed unusual vessels in the left upper lung and features of a pulmonary infarct. The left pulmonary artery was normal in caliber but then abruptly narrowed and twisted, as was the corresponding bronchus. These findings were highly suggestive of lung torsion.
