Imaging findings
Initial non-contrast CT showed a dilated IVC. A subsequent non-contrast PET study demonstrated extensive activity in the region of a renal tumor, extending into the right renal vein, IVC, and right atrium. MR, despite lack of contrast, further characterized a large lesion extending up the IVC into the right atrium, progressing towards the tricuspid valve plane. Later, a contrast-enhanced CT confirmed these findings.
