Imaging findings
Multiplanar reformats of the chest CT angiogram demonstrate a thin, shelf-like subaortic membrane causing significant narrowing along the left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT). There is asymmetric thickening of the aortic valve leaflets, particularly toward the right and non-coronary cusps, resulting from the eccentric jet of turbulent flow across the membrane. Mild, concentric left ventricular hypertrophy is also present.
