A large, rounded, heterogeneous mass was present in the basal right hemithorax, with adjacent atelectasis and a small pleural effusion. The mass was FDG avid. In a second patient, a similar mass also showed variable attenuation, enhancement, and curious cavitation, intimately associated with the pleura.
