Pre-operative CT of a patient with a biopsy-proven adenocarcinoma of the left upper lobe demonstrates a linear, worm-like, soft tissue density tract extending from the pleura to the nodule that was not present on the pre-biopsy CT. Histopathological analysis of the wedge resection specimen shows foreign body granulomatous reaction along the biopsy tract, corresponding to remnants of a BioSentry hydrogel tract-sealing plug.
