Imaging findings

CT images from January 2015 show a hypervascular mediastinal mass in the same location as a previously presented case. Follow-up imaging in April of the current year demonstrates the lesion remains stable. Biopsy confirmed it as a paraganglioma, negative for cytokeratin and TTF-1.

Key takeaways

Mediastinal paragangliomas can be incidental findings on imaging performed for other reasons, often asymptomatic and non-functioning. Their hypervascular nature and characteristic location are key imaging features.
