Initial chest radiograph shows reticular-nodular opacities and air-space disease, predominant mid-lungs and bases. A few hours later, worsening appearance with more consolidation. CT shows diffuse centrilobular ground-glass opacities, worsening towards the bases, with areas of consolidation and prominent interlobular septal thickening (interstitial edema), peribronchial fluid cuffs, subpleural edema, and small pleural effusions.
