Imaging findings
Chest radiograph and CT show a slowly growing, solitary, nonsegmental, lobulated mass-like opacity in the right suhilar lung. Contrast-enhanced CT reveals that pulmonary vessels and patent, distorted airways run directly through the lesion without being occluded. PET/CT demonstrates moderate FDG avidity of the lesion. Following radiation therapy, subsequent imaging shows findings of acute radiation pneumonitis in the treated region.
